InDesign Homework 1

 InDesign Tutorial Videos

Video 1:  InDesign Shape Tools

This video goes over how to use the shape tools in the Adobe System InDesign. There are two options when it comes to shape tools, the shape tool for framing photos and the normal shape tool. The normal shape tool was the options of: rectangle, ellipses, and polygons. To enlarge the shape that you selected all you have to do is click and drag once you have selected the type of shape you want. This tool seems very self-explanatory and easy to use. I do not think that I will have a problem using this tool. This tool can be used to make background designs for different logos. What I found interesting about the video was how many different ways she explains how to use the shape tool. The teacher also goes through how to use the shape tool with a step by step example of a real design.

Video 2:  InDesign Pen Tool

This video goes over how to use the pen tool to make custom shapes and backgrounds in the Adobe System, InDesign. This video was extremely helpful because of how it is set up, the lady runs through how to use the pen tool in different situations to make a background or shape fit the project that you are working on. She also goes through different tips and tricks to use while working with the pen tool. The video also contains an example of how to make a unique header for any project that you are working on. I really like how this lady explains how to use the pen tool, it is super easy to understand and follow on your own personal computer. I think that is tool will take a little bit of practice to fully master, but it should not be too hard to figure out. The best part of this video was the example that you get to follow along with.

Video 3: InDesign Color Theme Tool

This video goes over how to use the color theme tool in the Adobe System, InDesign. The lady talks about the significance of having a color theme in any project, and why is important to stick by that color theme. The color theme tool makes it so much easier to stick to a strict set of shades and different colors. The color theme tool selects the colors from the photos, shapes, or even text that is already in your InDesign file. This gets rid of the need of using the eyedropper tool. One you click on a photo with the color theme tool, the bar will pop up with all the different colors associated with that specific image. In the video, the lady gives the example of a picture of a flower and how to edit the same colored text onto the image through the color theme tool, this was a very interesting part of the video. I think that this tool will be easy to figure out and use. I will definitely use this to make my future project more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
